The event is Free but ticketed.

Join former Edinburgh Makar Alan Spence as he reflects on his time as the city's poet laureate with a brand new collection of poems Edinburgh Come All Ye. During his time as the Edinburgh Makar, Spence saw great changes in Edinburgh – and throughout the world – politically, socially and environmentally. Spence reflects upon these changes whilst appreciating the present wonder, rich history and blossoming future that Edinburgh has with wit, honesty and vivacity. Throughout the book are stunning artworks by artists such as Victoria Crowe, Alison Watt, Rose Strang, David Williams and Joyce Gunn Cairns. These artworks emphasise the changes that Spence witnessed, but also add new dimensions to the book which allow Spence’s work to soar.
